Recovery Support Groups

We offer Support groups for Substance Abuse Recovery allowing people to join together with others who share similar backgrounds, struggles, and experiences. This includes the facilitators. These groups are helpful whether you are interested in a support group as the first step in your journey to recovery, or if you would like to participate in the group as support to remain sober or help new members fight the urge. All groups below are open to anyone... the only requirement is a desire to free yourself from addiction or continue on your recovery path.

SMART Recovery Meetings

SMART TEEN is hosted on Saturday 11am at our Lafayette  location.

RSVP is required as we have comfortable seating for 12 participants.

SMART Recovery is a fresh approach to addiction recovery. SMART stands for Self-Management and Recovery Training. This is more than an acronym: it is a transformative method of moving from addictive substances and negative behaviors to a life of positive self-regard and willingness to change.

Far too many people feel powerless over their lives and carry a sense of futility, a dread of staying trapped within an addiction pattern and locked into their circumstances. SMART helps them learn the skills they need to overcome their addictions and transform their lives.

SMART was created for people seeking a self-empowering way to overcome addictive problems. What has emerged is an accessible method of recovery, one grounded in science and proven by more than a quarter-century of experience teaching practical tools that encourage lasting change.

LifeRing Secular Recovery Meetings

RSVP is required as we have comfortable seating for 12 participants.

LifeRing Secular Recovery is an organization of people who share practical experiences and sobriety support. There are as many ways to live free of illicit or non-medically indicated drugs and alcohol as there are stories of successful sober people. Many LifeRing members attend other kinds of meetings or recovery programs, and we honor those decisions. Some have had negative experiences in attempting to find help elsewhere, but most people soon find that LifeRing’s emphasis on the positive, practical present-day can turn anger and despair into hope and resolve. LifeRing respectfully embraces what works for each individual.

LifeRing believes you DO have the power to overcome your addiction. It’s hard, there are often setbacks, but in every addict there exists the desire to find lasting sobriety. We think of that as the Sober Self. With addiction, that part of us has been beaten down and relegated to a corner of our brains, but it’s still there. We also have an Addict Self that wants to control our decision-making and lead us to use the substance that is wrecking our lives. Learn more about LifeRing here.

Recovery Dharma Meetings

RSVP is required as we have comfortable seating for 10 participants.

Recovery Dharma offers an approach to recovery based on Buddhist principles. The program is peer-led and non-theistic, and is founded on and inspired by Buddhism that originated in India and later on flourished in other regions of Asia and the rest of the world.

We welcome all those who wish to pursue recovery as part of our community, regardless of their personal religious beliefs or their experience with Buddhism and meditation. Recovery Dharma meetings entail a brief introduction followed by a 10- to 15-minute guided meditation, then move on to readings, discussion and sharing.

Navigating Recovery's Recovery Dharma meetings are appropriate for beginners, both people new to recovery and new to Buddhism. There is no need to be a Buddhist or to become a Buddhist to benefit from the techniques and practices of Recovery Dharma. Learn more about Recovery Dharma here.
